CHARITY FUND MURLAND
Financial report for the period beginning April 17th, 2002
and ending September 10th, 2003

This report describes the flow of funds received at Murland's account at Promtorgbank. These funds are mainly used to pay for our programs of social adaptation of orphans, improvement of their living conditions and encouragement trips of orphans to Moscow.

NOTE: The flow of funds received in cash is described in a separate financial report. Cash funds are mainly used to pay for goods we deliver to children. The majority, about two thirds of the support provided to orphans are product donations received from the public which are not reflected in these financial reports.

Program  services:

a.  Computer literacy

This program is aimed to give orphans the basic knowledge about computers. This includes the knowledge of basic hardware elements, principals of construction, and skills in working with Microsoft Office programs and other frequently used software. These knowledge and skills will help children in a future to find a job and to become self sustaining adults. This program includes creation of computer classes in the supervised orphanages, supplying of a hard- and software, hiring of teachers of computer literacy.

b.  Psychological adaptation

This program is aimed to provide mental and physical health care assistance for children who lost one or both parents, were abandoned by their parents, or grew up in families with parents-alcoholics or drug addicts. This program includes hiring psychologists, supplying of educational and supplementary materials.

c.  "Living space" Program

This program is aimed to improve the living conditions of children in orphanages. Rooms where children live (sometimes up to 10 children in 1 room) are often half-empty, not so cozy, and children often have no personal space. This program includes supplying of materials and tools for constructing shelving units, cases and other items as well as supplying of sample furniture peaces. Teens learn to build furniture themselves. This program achieves two main goals: children acquire useful joiner skills and obtain some personal space, where they can put their belongings.

d.  Visiting Moscow

This program was created to bring some joy to the lives of orphans, to make something special for them. Most of them never traveled outside of their own town or village. Those who are diligent in studies during the year are awarded with these trips. These trips are also an encouragement for others who didn't travel yet.
